In 1988, some independent mountain area shopkeepers joined forces in order to work together effectively to make their customers’ holidays a success by offering a range of targeted services.
Sherpa Alimentation quickly became the leader and the specialist in the mountain food shops sector.
Since the chain started out, about a hundred other shopkeepers have joined the 6 founder members of the chain. So, today there are more and more numerous with a different overall approach which takes into account the holidaymaker’s expectations.
By positioning themselves clearly within the « holiday industry professions», the Sherpa food shopkeepers are not quite like the others in their line. A warm welcome, services, quality, and appropriate prices are considered as important features of this new mountain shop strategy.
In the Sherpa shops, we have two golden rules for our customers: enjoy yourself and make your life as simple as possible in order to get the best out of your holidays. The Sherpa shops have adapted themselves to these specific requirements, which are not quite what the customers are used to. The top priority is to set everything up so that our customers can save time and not have to cope with any practical problems. Hence, everything has been organized to make things easy for the customers, who can then give themselves over to their main activity: enjoying their holidays!
